Dance and practicing at home

One of the questions I get most often is a form of, "What should I be doing at home to make her practice more?" The answer is nothing. I think it's easy as a parent, and as an educator, to forget how young these students actually are. They truly don't need a lot of "homework". At this age they are like little sponges,  and they learn at a rapid rate. The goal at this point in their dance education is to make learning fun. This will help to encourage them to dance for years to come (if he/she chooses) and prevent burnout.

Even more reason to have your little one dance

If seeing your little one look adorable in a tutu weren't enough reason to have your child in dance, studies show that dancing is great for the brain. Sure, we've always known the physical advantages of being a dancer, but studies also suggest it is wonderful for learning and intelligence as well.

Happy New Year!

Here's to a New Year and new beginnings. We are so excited to get started on this adventure. For those of you just stopping by, we're not quite "new". As most of you know, we've been operating under another name for quite sometime. A lot of hard work, blood, sweat and tears have gone into launching a "new" business in quite a short period of time. I think I speak for all of us here at Studio Go when I say we are ecstatic to mix it up a bit.
